Agartala, Nov 4: Last-minute preparations are underway everywhere. From decorating puja pandals, arranging illumination and constructing idols to organising cultural programmes and fairs, widespread enthusiasm and excitement can be seen among local residents.
The main attraction this year will be a unique earthen idol presenting the 21 forms of Goddess Kali. The depiction of 21 forms of the Goddess in a single pandal is expected to draw considerable attention from visitors. Blending devotion, artistic beauty and religious sentiment, the idol is set to add a special dimension to this year’s Kali Puja in Kalyanpur.
Barely has the festive atmosphere of Durga Puja faded when the spirit of celebration has once again returned to Bengali households.
Apart from the idol and religious rituals, Akhanda Sangha Club has arranged several other attractions for this year's Kali Puja. A Mahayajna, grand sacrificial ritual, has been organised for world peace and the welfare of all, in the presence of priests from various temples. Alongside this, there will be an entertaining cultural programme, colourful illumination and an attractive fair for visitors.
One of the main attractions of Kali Puja in this area is the historic Kalyaneshwari Temple premises, located within the Kalyanpur police station area. Every year, a large number of devotees and visitors gather at this temple on the occasion of Diwali and Kali Puja. Through seeking the Mother's blessings, offering prayers and lighting lamps, devotees express their religious sentiments and faith.
Meanwhile, the police administration has made special arrangements to ensure peaceful and safe celebrations, including crowd control, traffic management, additional police deployment, CCTV surveillance and regular patrolling.
