According to the Sikkim Government portal, the initiative by the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department aims to build local expertise in adventure tourism.

The team was flagged off by MLA-cum-Advisor for the Power Department, Mr Sanjeet Kharel, who also expressed thanks to the Chief Minister and the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department for holding the state's first adventure tourism festival.

Mr Kharel discussed local road improvements and future tourism plans, noting that activities like rafting, zorbing, parasailing, motor cross racing, and jungle adventures create new opportunities for youth and the community with government support.

The week-long festival runs from November 1 to November 7, 2026, and includes events such as hot air ballooning, paragliding, horse riding, ATV riding, giant volleyball, and food stalls.
