Agartala, Nov 3: Amit Debnath, a resident of Taranidas Para in the Ratia area of Kalyanpur, filed a written complaint at Kalyanpur Police Station on Tuesday, alleging that Rs 30,771 had been debited from his bank account without his knowledge.
Debnath holds a savings account at the Kalyanpur branch of UCO Bank. He said messages from the bank on November 1 and 2 informed him that a total of Rs 30,771 had been debited from his account over the two days. He claimed he had neither withdrawn any money nor made any transaction from the account.
Based on his complaint, General Diary (GD) No. 17 was registered at the police station. Debnath alleged that an unidentified person had taken money from his account, and he requested a proper investigation and the recovery of the missing funds.
The incident has raised concerns about the security of banking transactions and the possibility of cyber fraud. Debnath expects the police to investigate thoroughly, find the reason behind the missing money and take the necessary steps to recover his funds.
