Speaking to the media after the nomination process, CPI(M) Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Committee secretary Partha Pratim Majumder said the party was confident of receiving public support in the November 27 elections. He said voters should get a free and democratic environment to exercise their franchise. Majumder said the party had submitted nominations for 11 seats in each civic body in the first phase. The remaining four seats in Bishalgarh Municipal Council would be covered in the next phase. He also urged voters to consider the Left Front’s past record in improving civic amenities and its emphasis on peace, security and democracy while choosing their representatives. Security arrangements were strengthened around the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office during the nomination process.
