Family member says she wanted to return home

In a video message shared on social media on Tuesday, October 27, family member Junali Barmon Gogoi said Dutta had expressed a wish to visit her family in Assam again, barely weeks after returning from a recent trip.

According to Gogoi, Dutta had visited home for her father’s death anniversary. She later expressed a desire to return, but her mother advised her against making another trip so soon, citing the recent visit and the expense of air travel.

Gogoi said the family was struggling to understand what had happened. She also appealed to people not to draw conclusions about the circumstances of Dutta’s death without knowing the full facts.

However, Gogoi’s account reflected her own observations and did not establish whether Dutta had experienced difficulties that were unknown to her family.
