Agartala, October 28: The prolonged uncertainty over the 2022 STGT examination brought candidates to the streets on Wednesday, as they sought the intervention of Chief Minister and Education Minister Professor Dr Manik Saha to resolve the pending issue.
The protesters questioned the delay in processing their examination results, pointing out that the recruitment process for the 2025 STGT examination had already been completed, while candidates from the 2022 examination were still waiting for an official decision.
According to the candidates, they had repeatedly approached the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT), over the past five years but had failed to receive a satisfactory response. They said they had appeared for the examination following an official notification and were entitled to clarity on their results and recruitment prospects.
The candidates also raised concerns over the legal proceedings reportedly associated with the matter. Referring to earlier High Court proceedings and a Special Leave Petition (SLP) reportedly filed in the Supreme Court, they sought clarification from the authorities on the legal status of the recruitment process.
They maintained that subsequent STGT examinations had been conducted and appointments made, while their own results remained pending. The protesters argued that candidates should not suffer because of administrative or procedural complications and demanded transparency from the Education Department.
The candidates appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene, ensure the immediate publication of the results and initiate recruitment without further delay. They said the prolonged wait had caused considerable frustration and left their employment prospects uncertain.
