Agartala, October 27: JRB T examination-qualified job aspirants continued their roadside sit-in protest until late evening on Tuesday, demanding recruitment and alleging prolonged delays in the appointment process. Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress president Nilkamal Saha visited the protesters, extended his support and arranged drinking water and refreshments for them.

Speaking to the media, Saha said the protesters were residents of Tripura who had been waiting for appointments for a long time. He claimed that the candidates had approached the court over alleged irregularities in the recruitment process and that the stipulated period for implementing the court’s order had already expired, yet appointments had not been made.

Saha criticised the state government for failing to address the candidates’ concerns, alleging that no government representative had met them despite their continued protest since morning. He also alleged that police personnel had threatened the protesters for staging the sit-in on the road.

Describing the situation as unfortunate, the Youth Congress president said repeated recruitment-related protests reflected the difficulties faced by unemployed youths seeking government jobs in the state.

He assured the candidates that the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress would extend full support if they decided to continue their agitation. He also urged the government and the concerned authorities to implement the relevant court order and complete the recruitment process without further delay.

The protest highlighted the continuing frustration among job aspirants over recruitment delays. The candidates’ specific demands and the status of the court proceedings could not be independently verified at the time of publication.
