Agartala, Oct 29: Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha has raised concerns over the voter list, seat reservation and election security ahead of the upcoming civic polls, alleging attempts to influence the electoral process. Saha questioned the use of the October 2021 voter list and demanded strict adherence to reservation rules. He urged the State Election Commission and administration to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections. He said the Congress had submitted a list of sensitive and highly sensitive polling booths and demanded additional central forces to maintain security. On the possibility of an electoral understanding with the CPI(M), Saha said discussions were underway and a decision could be taken within the next two days. He made it clear that defeating the BJP would be the Congress’s primary objective in the civic polls. Saha also alleged that public dissatisfaction over corruption, misgovernance and administrative bias was growing across the state.
