Agartala, Nov 6: BJP candidates for all 51 wards of the Agartala Municipal Corporation filed their nomination papers at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office in Agartala on Friday in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha ahead of the civic polls.
Many party leaders, workers and supporters gathered during the nomination process.
Speaking to the media, Dr Saha said the BJP works throughout the year to address the basic problems of common people, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of serving the last person in society.
He said the large turnout at the nomination programme reflected public support for the party’s year-round activities and expressed confidence about the BJP’s performance in the upcoming election.
